To complement his interest in sports knee injuries he undertook a fellowship in sports medicine in Auckland, New Zealand, treating patients from all levels of sporting endeavour, including the elite or international level.

His specialist field of interest is in arthroscopic (keyhole) treatment of soft tissue injuries of the knee, in particular those of ligament or cartilage.

Ben also maintains a commitment to general orthopaedic trauma, based at RAEI, again with a specialist interest in fractures or other injuries around the knee.
